Photoshop plugin

Fix tiny, blurry artwork before it hits the press.

HiRez rebuilds low-resolution logos and graphics into clean, larger files, right inside Photoshop. Select a layer, press one button, keep working.

Works with Photoshop 2022 (version 23.3) and newer.

Real HiRez output. The source was a 160 x 160 JPEG of a made-up logo, the result is 640 x 640. Drag to compare.

Three steps, no settings maze

The panel lives next to your layers. Pick what kind of image it is, pick a size, and go. Presets for Logo, Photo and Web image set it all in one tap.

01

Select a layer

Click the low-res logo or graphic in your document. HiRez works on the layer you have selected.

02

Choose a mode

Graphic for logos, text and flat art. Photo for everything with texture and gradients.

03

Press Process Image

The upscaled result lands in your document as a new layer in a few seconds, ready to place, trace or send to print.

Built for real files, not just clean demos

Logos come with transparent backgrounds, customer art comes in batches, and some files are huge. HiRez handles all of that without extra steps.

Zoomed edge of a cut-out logo: a typical resize leaves a soft, fuzzy edge, HiRez keeps it crisp with transparency intact

Transparent backgrounds

Cut-out logos keep their transparency, with no dark or white fringes around the edges. Prefer a solid background? One switch puts the result on white.

A large layer split into six numbered pieces on the left, one finished image on the right

Big images, no fuss

Layers up to about 4000 x 4000 pixels are split into pieces, upscaled, and stitched back together without visible seams.

Three selected layers before, and the same three marked done after

Batch several layers

Select more than one layer and press the button once. Each layer is upscaled in turn and a failed one never stops the rest.

Photoshop canvas and layers panel: a new Smart Object layer sits above the original low-res layer

Lands in your document

The result comes back as a new layer, or as a Smart Object that covers the same area as the original while keeping every extra pixel inside.

Layers panel before and after: the original layer swapped for the upscaled Smart Object with the same name

Replace the original

Swap the low-res layer for the upscaled one in a single step. It keeps the layer's name and position, and Ctrl+Z brings the old one back.

A 160 pixel logo and a size box set to 3000, then the result labeled 3000 x 3000 pixels

Exact output size

Need a 3000 px logo for a print template? Type the size and HiRez resizes the result so the longest side matches.

Zoomed text from a heavily compressed logo before clean-up and after, with the Off, Light and Strong control

Clean up JPEG damage

Smooth out speckle and halos from heavy compression before upscaling, so the AI doesn't blow those flaws up along with the picture. It softens noise, it won't repair big visible blocks.

A zoomed PNG with soft edges next to the traced SVG with sharp edges at the same zoom

Vector copy (SVG)

Turn on one switch and HiRez also saves an SVG traced from the upscaled result. It works best on flat logos with a few colors.

The HiRez panel mid-job with a Cancel button, then finished with a before and after preview and a usage meter

Preview and control

See a before and after right in the panel, watch your monthly usage in a small meter, and cancel a long job whenever you like.

Each picture is an illustration of how the option behaves, using a made-up logo. The clean-up and SVG panels run HiRez's own processing on that logo.

Two modes, built for different artwork

Logos and photos break in different ways, so HiRez treats them differently.

Graphic

Rebuilds hard edges, lettering and flat color so a soft, pixelated logo comes back crisp. This is the mode for shirt designs, stickers, signs and anything with clean shapes.

Photo

A general-purpose upscaler with 2x, 3x and 4x options. Use it for photos, textures and artwork with gradients and fine detail.

Made for people who get bad files every day

Customers send screenshots, social media logos and 150 pixel JPEGs. HiRez gives you something you can actually print.

Print shops and decorators

Clean up customer art in seconds instead of redrawing it or sending it back.

Designers and freelancers

Rescue an old client logo, a tiny stock image or a compressed asset without leaving Photoshop.

Online sellers

Make artwork large enough for print-on-demand and marketplace uploads that demand high resolution.

One upscale is one image. Very large layers are split into pieces and count as one upscale for every 4 pieces. Unused upscales don't roll over.

Questions

Which version of Photoshop do I need?

Photoshop 2022 (version 23.3) or newer.

What happens to my images?

Your selected layer is sent over an encrypted connection to HiRez's processing server, passed to an AI upscaling service (fal.ai), and the result comes straight back to Photoshop. HiRez does not save your images on its servers. See the privacy page for details.

Is there a size limit?

A layer can be up to about 4000 x 4000 pixels (16 megapixels). Anything over about 2000 x 2000 is split into pieces automatically and stitched back together.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. The upscaling happens on a server, so Photoshop needs to be online while you process a layer.

How big is the result?

In the test above, a 160 x 160 image came back at 640 x 640, four times larger in each direction. Photo mode lets you choose 2x, 3x or 4x, or type an exact size in pixels for the longest side.

What counts as an upscale?

One image processed is one upscale. Large layers are split into pieces, and every 4 pieces count as one upscale. Your plan includes 250 a month, and the panel shows how many you have used.

Can I use it on more than one computer?

Yes, one license works on up to 3 computers.

Does it keep transparent backgrounds?

Yes. Transparent areas stay transparent, with clean edges. You can switch that off to put the result on a white background.

Can it fix a badly compressed JPEG?

The clean-up option smooths speckle and halos from compression before upscaling, which helps a lot on mildly damaged files. It will not rebuild heavy, blocky damage.

Who makes HiRez?

HiRez is built by The Gridline Company, a small studio in West Covina, California.
